Passports

The City of Artesia processes passport applications by appointment only Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., closed alternate Fridays. For more information and to schedule an appointment, please call (562) 865-6262 Ext. 0.


 To apply for a passport for the first time, you will need to bring the following documents:

  • Completed DS-11 (Application for a U.S. Passport)
  • Original Proof of U.S. Citizenship: Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. A photocopy of the proof of citizenship must be submitted. (Please note: Abstracts Birth Certificates and Hospital Certificates are NOT acceptable)
  • Valid government-issued identification. A photocopy of the front and back of the identification must be submitted.
  • Submit one (1) recent 2" x 2" color photographs, full faced with plain white or off-white background.
  • Two Forms of Payment

Emergency Passports:

Travelers departing within 2 weeks must make an appointment with the Los Angeles Passport Agency at (877) 487-2778 (24-hour appointment scheduling system). Proof of travel within 2 weeks is required.
