Artesia Begins to Improve Residential Streets

Residents and visitors to Artesia may have noticed that crews are busy working to give several City streets a much-needed facelift.  City Staff has able to secure a grant to improve the City’s streets. The City is committing these funds to preserving and improving the conditions and performance of its public streets, in accordance with the City’s Pavement Management Plan.  The following streets the first to be addressed:

  • 187th Street
  • Droxford Street
  • Academy Way
  • Bingham Street
  • Cambrian Way
  • Carver Lane

The City is working with a contractor to apply cape seal in order to rehabilitate and maintain the structural integrity of the streets. The Contractor began work on April 5, 2017 and has completed the installation of chip seal on all of the mentioned streets.  This project will be completed by April 21, 2017.
