Artesia Water Tower Artwork Complete

finished water tower 2.jpg

Earlier this year the City began a revitalization process with the Artesia Water Tower off 183rd Street.  In June, the entire water tower received a fresh coat of white paint and was fitted with LED lighting in preparation of new artwork branding the tower.  Following input from the Artesia Historical Society and the Artesia Arts Council, the City Council selected the new design featuring the name "ARTESIA" along with a multicolored image of an artesian well representing the City's name sake.  The artwork was hand painted by two muralists working in a lift over 100 feet from the ground, quite an amazing task.  The artwork is now complete and will be illuminated for the first time tonight.  Please come by and check it out!
