PRESS RELEASE: City Breaks Ground on Historical District Recreational Trails

Mayor Ali Taj, Mayor Pro Tem Sally Flowers, and Councilman Victor Manalo were joined by representatives from the Artesia Historical Society, the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, the program manager and the work crew, as well as landscape architects, Art Alaniz and Stephanie Harris, to break ground on the City’s Historical District Recreational Trails.  The groundbreaking ceremony on November 7, 2017 was the result of more than four years of diligent work by the City Council, as well as City staff, to develop plans for the new bike and pedestrian trail system.  Having received Los Angeles County Metro’s approval of the plans in early October, the City wasted no time breaking ground on the project and preparing it for future use by the community.
