The City of Artesia City Clerk’s Office is designated as an authorized United States Passport Acceptance Facility.  Passports Services are available by appointment only, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., closed alternate Fridays. For more information and to schedule an appointment, please call (562) 865-6262 Ext. 0.

To apply for a passport for the first time, you will need to bring the following documents:

  • Completed DS-11 (Application for a  U.S. Passport)
  • Original Proof of U.S. Citizenship: Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate. A photocopy of the proof of citizenship must be submitted. (Please note: Abstracts Birth Certificates and Hospital Certificates are NOT acceptable)
  • Valid government-issued identification.  A photocopy of the front and back of the identification must be submitted.
  • Submit one (1) recent 2” x 2” color photographs, full faced with plain white or off-white background.
  • Two Forms of Payment

Passport Fees

Passport fees are payable to U.S. Department of State in the form of a check or money order only:

Adults (16 and older)

Passport Book Fee $110.00

Passport Card Fee $30.00

Children (15 years and under)

Passport Book Fee $80.00

Passport Card $15.00


Expedited Services: For an additional $60.00, you may request expedited service to receive your passport within 2 to 3 weeks. This fee is payable to U.S. Department of State.

Passport Acceptance fee is $25.00 per application. Passport Acceptance fee is payable to City of Artesia in the form of cash, credit card, check or money order.

Please note: All applicants must apply in person, regardless of age.

Emergency Passports:

Travelers departing within 2 weeks must make an appointment with the Los Angeles Passport Agency at (877) 487-2778 (24-hour appointment scheduling system). Proof of travel within 2 weeks is required.
