Artesians, along with Mayor Miguel Canales, Councilwoman Sally Flowers, and Councilman Ali Sajjad Taj, cut a ribbon on 166th and Elaine in northern Artesia to celebrate the various projects in that neighborhood on the afternoon of February 18, 2015.
The various improvements include replacing all storm drain grates, installing 14 new stop signs, expanding sidewalks along Elaine Avenue that meet ADA requirements, undertaking a cape seal project along 166th Street, and adding improved and brighter lighting throughout North Artesia. The street lights project was an important result of a partnership between the City and Southern California Edison.
“We are happy to celebrate all of the improvements in North Artesia,” said Mayor Canales. “Over the past two years the City Council and staff have worked tirelessly to make improvements for the benefit of North Artesia residents.”
There are many projects still underway, including the finishing of the sidewalk expansion project, which is scheduled to be complete by the end of June 2015.
