On Saturday, January 26, the City of Artesia partnered with TreePeople to host a Fruit Tree Giveaway at Artesia Park. Funding by a grant from the Max Factor Family Foundation allowed over 200 households to each receive a free fruit tree. This successful event emphasizes the connection between public health and the environment, and the City’s commitment to both. Increasing the tree population will fight air pollution, and, as fruit-bearing trees, they will provide a consistent source of nutritious food.
