September is National Preparedness Month

Natl Preparedness

September is National Preparedness Month and the City of Artesia is ready with resources and activities to help families prepare and to promote community disaster planning.

As our nation continues to respond to COVID-19, there is no better time to be involved in preparing for an emergency.

Use the resources on this National Preparedness Month page to help you:

  • Create an emergency plan for your family.
  • Build an emergency supply kit.
  • Prepare for different types of disasters.
  • Teach your children about being prepared for an emergency situation.

The goal of National Preparedness Month is to create a secure and resilient Nation with the capabilities required across the whole community to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the area we live in.
