Artesia has been nominated as a finalist in the Most Business Friendly City contest for Los Angeles County. This alone is a testament to Artesia's diligence toward its business community.
The City of Artesia is up against four other cities in the small city category of the prestigious award, which is given by the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation. Other cities competing in this category are Bell Gardens, El Segundo, La Mirada, and San Gabriel.
Artesia was nominated for its can-do attitude, its customer service, and business-friendly programs.
For example, Artesia offers a Restaurant Incentive Program, offering an incentive loan paid for by sales tax offsets to attract new restaurants.
Another program is the Business Rehabilitation Program, which offers a small loan to businesses to make repairs to their businesses.
The award, called the EDDY Award, will be announced at a November 14 banquet held in the Beverly Hiltion, at 9876 Wilshire Blvd., in Beverly Hills.
