Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva Secures Funding for Artesia

Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva has successfully secured $3.2 million for the City of Artesia through AB 102, an Amendment to the Budget Act of 2023. The allocated funds will provide crucial support for two key projects: facility improvements at Artesia Park and the Albert O. Little Community Center and the creation of the upcoming Artesia Botanical Garden. Today, we are thrilled to announce that this bill has been signed into law by the Governor, solidifying the funding for these significant projects.

Thanks to Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva's dedicated efforts, Artesia Park and the Albert O. Little Community Center project will receive $1.2 million in critical upgrades and enhancements. The project addresses various aspects at Artesia Park and the Community Center, such as providing new recreational facilities, improving baseball fields and landscaping, and refurbishing overall infrastructure. These improvements will provide the community with a safe, enjoyable, and accessible recreational space for years to come.

Furthermore, Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva has secured a remarkable $2 million for the upcoming Artesia Botanical Gardens project. With construction set to begin in 2024, this funding will play a pivotal role in bringing the envisioned Botanical Garden to life. The Botanical Garden will serve as a haven for nature enthusiasts, offering diverse flora, tranquil pathways, educational exhibits, and provide additional space for special events and public programming. It will beautify the City and help promote environmental awareness to people of all ages.

The City of Artesia remains committed to creating a vibrant and thriving community. With Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva's support, the City is confident that these projects will foster a vibrant and flourishing community. The quality of life will be enhanced for City residents, while offering a memorable destination for visitors.
