Los Angeles County Fourth District Supervisor Hahn has successfully secured $1.2 million for the City of Artesia for improvements to City Parks. The allocated funds will provide crucial support for A.J. Padelford Park and Artesia Park. The projects at A.J. Padelford Park include: refurbishing the Teen Center, new outdoor park lighting, outdoor restrooms, and new equipment. Artesia Park will also see improvements to the outdoor restrooms. Today, we are thrilled to announce that the City’s funding requests for these improvements have been approved for allocation.
Thanks to Supervisor Hahn's dedicated efforts, the A.J. Padelford Park and Artesia Park improvement project will receive $1.2 million in critical upgrades and enhancements. The project addresses various aspects at A.J. Padelford Park such as repairing the roof and rain damage at the Teen Center to open the center for use by the Artesia Leaders Teen Program, install additional outdoor lighting to create a brighter, safer park, provide new outdoor restrooms, and purchase much needed computers for the youth and teen afterschool programs. These improvements will afford the community with a safe, enjoyable, and accessible recreational space for years to come.
Furthermore, Artesia Park will also see improvements to the outdoor restrooms including painting, lighting upgrades and improvements to the stall partitions. Artesia Park is heavily used facility that houses the City’s youth and adult sports programs and major special events. The refurbishment of the outdoor restrooms will benefit all the patrons of these programs by providing enhanced facilities.
City of Artesia Mayor, Monica Manalo, remarked, "I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Supervisor Hahn and her dedicated staff for their unwavering advocacy on behalf of the City Council, City Staff, and the residents of the City of Artesia. Their successful efforts in securing these funds will greatly improve our City parks and enhance the quality of life for our residents and those visiting our wonderful parks.”
The City of Artesia remains committed to providing an improved quality of life for its residents. The support shown by Supervisor Janice Hahn will help in our unwavering efforts to create a flourishing, sustainable community for everyone who calls Artesia home and offers a memorable destination for all who visit our charming, vibrant City.
