The City of Artesia is updating its General Plan Housing Element and wants to hear your ideas.
Stop by the informational booth during the Diwali Festival to learn about the Housing Element Update. Talk to project team about challenges that should be addressed, and tell us what's important to you!
The Housing Element Information Booth will be open during the Festival of Lights/Diwali Mela Event on Sunday, November 10 from 1 to 4 p.m. The Festival will be on Pioneer Blvd., from 183rd Street to 188th Street. The Housing Element Information Booth will be near the intersection between 187th Street and Pioneer Blvd.
What is a Housing Element?
The Housing Element is one of the seven state-mandated Elements, or chapters, of the General Plan. The Housing Element establishes city policies and programs regarding:
- Maintenance of existing housing stock
- Preserving existing affordable housing units
- Creation of new housing to meet the needs of all members of the community
- Providing resources to help people meet their housing needs
