For the past 20 years, the residents of the cities of Artesia and Cerritos have come together to help our neighbors during the Christmas season through the work of the Artesia-Cerritos Community Christmas Program.
Those families in need can register for the program at Holy Family Catholic Church, 18708 S. Clarkdale Ave. in Artesia, on Tuesday Nov. 19 from 12:15 to 3:30 p.m., and Wednesday Nov. 20 from 3 to 6 p.m., and Thurs. Nov. 20 from 12:15 to 3:30 p.m. Requirements for registration are a verification of financial need and proof residnecy in the cities of Artesia and Cerritos. Recipients of welfare and other federal or state qualified programs will be accepted with the proper documentation. An Artesia or Cerritos utility bill along with a valid California driver's license or California ID is also a requirement.
This year the program will only be able to help the residents of Artesia and Cerritos. Surrounding cities do have programs for their citizens. Check at your local City Hall for further information.
