PRESS RELEASE
Artesia, California - August 7, 2024
On August 6th, Congresswoman Michelle Steel presented a $6 million grant award to the City of Artesia for the Citywide Road Rehabilitation Project. This project will help support vital road improvements throughout the City.
The $6 million grant is a one-time funding opportunity that will allow the City to address over 330,000 square feet of roads currently in serious condition. The funding will enable the City to tackle the most critical roads by rebuilding them from the ground up.
Artesia continues to face challenges, as over 2.6 million square feet of roads remain in very poor or poor condition. This project marks a major step forward in Artesia’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing our infrastructure for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.
“The City of Artesia is deeply grateful to Congresswoman Steel for her support and for recognizing the importance of infrastructure improvements in our community,” said Tony Lima, Mayor of Artesia. “While this grant will make a significant impact, we remain committed to securing further funding to address the remaining roadways in need of repair.”
We'll keep the community informed with regular updates and additional details as the project moves forward.
