Artesia Expands Public Safety Efforts with Security Guard Partnership

News / Info Posted on July 21, 2025

PRESS RELEASE

As part of a continued commitment to enhancing public safety, the City of Artesia has entered into a professional services agreement with Southwest Patrol to provide dedicated citywide security services throughout the 2025-26 fiscal year.

This agreement reflects the City Council’s ongoing priority to deter criminal activity and support law enforcement efforts in Artesia. Under this new contract, Southwest Patrol will deploy unarmed security personnel in marked vehicles seven nights a week across residential neighborhoods, parks, and commercial areas.

“These patrols will provide an added layer of visibility and awareness that strengthens our community’s overall safety,” said Mayor Ali Taj. “Our partnership with Southwest Patrol is another step in ensuring Artesia remains a safe place to live, work, and visit.” Security officers will coordinate closely with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to provide consistent coverage tailored to the City's evolving needs.

Southwest Patrol is a well-established firm with over 30 years of experience in municipal security and currently provides similar public safety support in nearby cities including Bellflower, Cerritos, Lakewood, and Paramount.
