The City of Artesia Planning Department is responsible for current planning, advance planning, and the development of the city. This is accomplished through the review and processing land use development proposals and applications for new construction, and proposed improvements and modifications to existing commercial, industrial, or residential developments.
The Planning Department is responsible for maintaining the city's zoning code to be in compliance with the city's general plan. The Planning Department also acts as a staff liaison to the Planning Commission and City Council.
