Tots & Trails is the name given to the renovation of A.J. Padelford Park's play areas, made possible through a partnership between the City of Artesia and the Los Angeles Conservation Corps (LACC).
LACC was awarded funding from First 5 LA to complete the renovation of ten tot playgrounds in L.A. County Supervisor District 4. Two of the ten renovation projects are occurring in the city of Artesia. The first project at A.J. Padelford Park included the replacement of the Tot Lot playground equipment, the addition of a new play area, and the creation of a walking loop around the park.
The playgrounds were re-opened on July 23 by members of the city Council, LACC, First 5 LA, and the community.
Baber Park is the second park in Artesia to receive new playground equipment. The park is currently under construction and expected to open in fall 2013.
